Seriously tough topcoat?

  • I don't find Seche Vite that great as a lasting topcoat (sometimes I can peel my whole polish off in one go if I use Seche) - it does make your polish dry quickly and super shiny though.
  • ive tried loads of different top coats and found nothing works. i add a topcoat every night to strengthen it and i managed to keep a french manicure i did myself looking perfect for 10 days before i took it off.

also rubber gloves when doing all housework!

agree, lumos is the best, and highly recommended by professional nail techs.
you can get the top coat for £3.30, a small bottle, but good for trying it out.

I too use a good top coat, so that I can buy cheap polish and it will last.
(my current nail polish, barry m, has been on since last Sunday, and still OK, apart from growth of course).
  • all who mentioned Lumos, shame on you! you've forced me to give the base & top coat a go. :p

not too bad though, both 15ml sizes & delivered for £16.83 off ebay. seems to last a long time & shouldn't need the thinner that you have to buy for seche vite.

Agreed, nikki2084 & terra-ferma should be ashamed of themselves. I'll have to try Lumos now as well, just to see if its better than Seche or the Sally Hansen one I love. And I wasn't buying any more nail products EVER.

  • My lumos base and top coats arrived this morning and I've applied them with an OPI colour. Am very impressed already. Looking forward to seeing how it fares.......
