Mortgage offer and changing job

I have a motgage offer and we are due to move house in January. I have been offered a new job that will start in January but it will be with the same employer. The new job is a temporary contract for 6 months. If I take the job will it jeopardise the mortgage offer that we have in place (as it is a temporary contract) and will I need to disclose it to the mortgage company? Will the mortgage company contact my employer now? Many thanks

You must disclose any change in your circumstances which may affect the lender's decision to lend to you. This applies from application, right up to completion.

I suspect if you report a change from full-time permanent to short-term contract your mortgage offer will be withdrawn.

What kind of protection will you receive, or are you simply giving up all your employment rights when you make this alteration?

If the latter, embarking on a house purchase may not be a sensible idea at this point.

    Is your current position permanent?

    Thanks for the replies.

My current job is temp but on a rolling contract renewed yearly subject to funding.

I wouldn't be putting my finances at risk as we can survive from my husbands salary but the mortgage is in both names and from both salaries.
