Had a call 05/12/2011 Monday. From this number claiming to be CSA.
Asked for me by name and wanting security conformation of my National Insurance number and first line of my address with postcode.
I have no dispute with CSA, which is why I am curious as to why they would need to contact me? I have tried calling it back, but it's constantly engaged.
Not sure if this genuine or not.
Anyone else had a call from this number? And if so, is it genuine?
Thanks in advance.

It could be a number that doesn't accept incoming calls. If they ring you on that again and you're not sure if it's the CSA, ask if there is a number that you can call them back on, that will confirm if it's lefit or not.0 -
Thanks for your advice you lovely people.
I was concerned as, they said they were sending me some correspondence, and what with my Mother being really ill, I thought my ex-wife of 13 years who has a household income of around £70k pa wouldn't be so evil as to chase me for more money at this awful time.
I can confirm now, that she is that evil and greedy as I received the correspondence this morning.
Thanks again. Not been in here for years. Life got hectic!0 -

I only read, never really post but surely it doesnt matter what your ex wifes household income is, you have a duty to pay for your children, or am i wrong0 -
So they aren't your children then and she is to support them totally herself?0

ERRM - I Think you may have missed the point. I am paying and have always paid. I have even had my daughter live with me due to ex-wife forcefully making them live all over the world. My point in saying what I said was - For the sake of a few more pounds a month, She could have left it until I was over a bad period in my life. But, She just loves to pick the worst possible time = EVIL
The CSA are the most usless government organisation and couldn't organise a !!!! up in brewery. Even when you comply with all they demand, they still fail.
Just for the record: I fought and WON a residence order. So I ain't your typical absent Father. Not been in here for years. Life got hectic!0 -

Good for you.
You should have used the csa to go after your ex wife...maybe you still can?0 -
Thanks PD001.
My kids are adults now 16 & 18. Been through some crazy times with the CSA. I made no claim when my daughter lived with me. It was " 1 lived with me and 1 lived with her in Cyprus. It was just nice not to have to deal with CSA. I can't tell people enough how bad the CSA is. The residence order was implemented in court by ex-wife to forcefully move them to Catterick Garrison in Yorkshire. I fought the case myself and with the help and support of CAFCASS, I won a contact order. She paid all the court costs. Guess she still wants to get back at me for that. Not been in here for years. Bet you are not wrong!
Been through crazy times myself with the csa.
Ended up homeless for a while...they imposed a deo well in excess of the 40% of my take home pay so i couldnt afford to pay my rent and ended up sofa surfing and living in a van!!
Anyway, my debt is now paid in full and I even have it in writing that my case is closed and my account is at zero.
Good times ahead hopefully.0 -

Nice to hear it's at zero - People have killed themselves because of their demands.
They are a bad organization. I ain't got long till my ordeal with them ends, But The CSA has destroyed lives and still are. It's like legal theft! Bit that gets me at the mo is. I have been working 7 days a week for over a year now. Thinking, My overtime will pay for it. Now, I am up for reassessment. My extra effort will be taken as income. So I will have to pay MORE cos I wanted to be able to pay my original assessment. So Wrong. Not been in here for years. Life got hectic!0
