What effectively you are doing is blackmailing them into paying you as they do not need to refund them. However, it is cheaper to refund than deal with your complaint. Although when the fee is in the £225 range they are probably more willing to reject.

Horrible behaviour. Take some responsiblity for the contracts into which you enter and honour them properly.

I suppose when banks increase their charges to make up for the amounts they are having to pay out to people like you there will be another round of complaining and "banks are profiteering" calls again, when you are perpetuating the problem.

It's times like this that there should be a "Scorn" button next to the "Thanks".

Its times like this that you wish the FOS would only charge the firm for upheld complaints and not try-it-on complaints as well.

I was at a meeting recently, and we were warned that there is an expectation that the volume of try-it-on and fraudulent complaints will increase and that it will put some out of business despite doing nothing wrong.
