Best thing to do is contact them directly, say that you cannot afford the payments, they should be able to sort out some kind of payment plan.52 week money challenge £1/13780

Yes, as above.
Provi are OK with that as they understand their market. If you are having any problems try the CAB or one of the other fee free organisations (if you have multiple debts).
When the CAB make an offer justified by your financial statement Provi withdraw the account from the local office and administer it from Bradford. You make the agreed payment (can be as little as £1 per month if that's all that is available) by standing order to their solicitors, C K Edrupt.0 -
I used to be with Provident years ago and I had to reduce payments and they were cool with it for a while until the manager came out and came out with you've always been a good customer what have we done wrong?
Trying to make us feel guilty didn't work then came the letters and if you need a loan you won't get a huge amount again until we feel we can trust you to pay us.
I got sick of the letters and said never again and I haven't been with them since the 1995 and when Brighthouse is paid off next year I'm not using them again ever.
You pay without fail for years and want to pay lower amounts or miss a couple of payments for car insurance and they get nastier that a government tax collector.
Come to think of it I think Provident employees are x tax collectors o0I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -
Just pay the agent £1.00 every 12 weeks. There is NOTHING they can do.
If they refuse to take payment, get them to WRITE IN INK in your payment book that they have REFUSED payment.0 -

That is poor advice that will only effect the OP and not provident. They are a huge company and will not miss the OP's payments and they will get their money back eventually anyway. You obviously have bad feelings towards Provident but that does not help the OP.0 -

Also they do not have to accept reduced payments and writing it in the payment book has no gain to it.0 -

All provident agents are self employed and thats why they treat us like dirt as well as you.
I have been an agent for 8 years and never shout and holler at people but Provident is now making it impossible for us as they hit us with unfair charges for arrears customers. I have even written to the top bloke and guess what... he couldn't be bothered to reply himself, which is a bit rude as me and all the other 1100 odd agents actually pay his massive wages and bonuses. I'm £75 down this week before i even start!!! No one hates them more than me at the moment!!!0
