Christmas Cake

Can I 'feed' the cake with something which isn't alcoholic like orange juice to prevent it from drying out?

One of the problems I could see with orange juice is that it would 'go off' if not chilled, even UHT stuff needs chilling after opening.

I seem to remember my nana mentioning feeding it with tea... I could be wrong though... I shall google it.

Your cake shouldn't dry out if there's plenty of fruit in it. I would just wrap it up in foil and store in an airtight tin.
  • Tea works well
Life is like a box of chocolates..........you always seem to pick the hard ones!
  • Juices will ferment and it will make the cake sour. I think you can use tea, but to be honest I would just leave it alone - just wrap it really well and keep in an airtight tin.
