This gripping new adaptation from ITV DVD blows the cobwebs off traditional period drama and boasts a stellar cast of thrilling young talent. Featuring amazing CGI combined with dramatic locations the 90 minute film contrasts the dramatic locations and beauty of Victorian England with Count Dracula’s world of sex, corruption and horror.

Marc Warren (Band of Brothers, Hustle) is compelling as Count Dracula with David Suchet (Poirot) giving a master class performance as Dracula’s nemesis and vampire hunter, van Helsing. The striking cast also includes Sophia Myles (Underworld, Doctor Who, Tristan and Isolde), Dan Stevens (The Line of Beauty) and Tom Burke (State of Play).

The story follows the fate of young Aristocrat Arthur Holmwood (Dan Stevens) who has the world at his feet and is about to marry the love of his life Lucy (Sophia Myles). But all that comes crashing down when he learns that he’s inherited syphilis and his world falls apart. In desperation to rid himself of disease and death he is drawn into the midst of a sinister blood cult that lures him with the false promise of a cure. Unwittingly he dispatches innocent lawyer Harker (Rafe Spall (Shaun of the Dead) to Transylvania and in doing so unleashes the evil force of the fatally charismatic Count Dracula (Marc Warren).

As Holmwood hides his dreadful affliction from Lucy, she becomes increasingly frustrated by his refusal to consummate their marriage and becomes easy prey for the seductive and mysterious Count Dracula. However, Harker’s fiancée Mina (Stephanie Leonidas (Wall of Silence) is the vampire’s ultimate target and a deadly battle ensues as the story reaches its terrifying and brutal conclusion.

Thanks to ITV DVD, Digital Spy is giving FIVE lucky readers the chance to win a copy of the DVD.
