I know this is probably not the right forum, but i cant a better one that will illicit a response.
My company has just kicked off a scheme whereby we can 'loan' a computer from them for 3 years and this incurrs all sorts of tax benefits for both them and the employee. basically you chose either a laptop or desktop and whatever accessories you need, from a limited catalogue, and the money is take from your wages before you are paid it. for example mine is costing £36 a month gross, but it will cost me £25 a month net. after the three years, the hardware is 'offered to you at the market value' which is the way they get round it being a hire purchase scheme.
apparently this is something gordon brown announced a couple of budgets ago to entice the country into having PC's. loads of companies have set up to facilitate this so that it is not a burden to the the scheme is not borne by every company wanting to run the scheme. my work is using nicator,
my question is, does anyone else have experience of this scheme and or nicator, and what sort of prices where you paying, and what final values are to be expected at the end of the term?
thanks

The NHS offer a simialr scheme which I have looked into. It seems that the price that they charge overall isn't that competitive compared to buying a PC or laptop of similar spec online, but the benefit in terms of tax saving is significant. All in all you wont make a massive saving, but you'll spread the payments and will prevent the taxman getting his hands on your hard earned cash!0
