.... Two references with the same surname?

.... I am applying for jobs at the minute, but my two references from previous jobs both have the same surname, Is this an issue? Does it look a bit dodgy?

No! if they have the same surname that's fine! (It does happen in real life, after all...!!)

It would be a tiny bit odd but hey - if they are both called Mr Smith then that's what they are called. If it was a really unusual surname then maybe it would raise eyebrows but I presume it's just a common name and they aren't related at all (or to you which might be more problematic)?
