Hi Guys,
Quite often I have seen posts about is this or that website for real or too good to be true and there is always a helpful soul who gives registration details/address for the company who own it, can someone please tell me where to find this info as my sister is looking at a lot of sites selling ghd's and i wanted to check them out first.
Thanks
Claire

Dont waste your money then Claire not worth it, some of them fakes are dangerous. At least genuine ones conform to a safety standard
One be careful of sites just newly registered lots of scam sites appear around October time to cash in0 -
Make sure they have address and telephone number. I often check companies house database.
Then also and this is a big one, go on internet and type name in with the word review at the front. This will bring all sorts up about a company.0 -
Looking at UK sites they should give contact/company details on the actual website, also look if they have a return policy compliant with DSR.0

I'm not absolutely sure if it's fare to say all Chinese based websites are dodgy. DealExtreme is based in Hong Kong. Admittedly the stuff they sell are generic products, i.e. unbranded, though they appear to be OK and the stuff they sell work as well if not better sometimes than non-generic products. I've bought stuff from them and I'm fairly satisfied with what I received. Does currently take a while for stuff to deliver though in the near future they'll be introducing warehouses based in the UK, so should hopefully speed up delivery times.
Though it must be said, and as terra_ferma has more or less pointed out, not suppling full details of any company is actually prohibited by law. They must show full contact details, etc, on their website.
Also, be very wary of any business with just a PO box or email address.
And don't assume that because it appears on a reputable search engine, that makes it a reputable site. And if it looks to good to be true, it probably is.
