Help!

Hi

Can anyone offer me some advise, after being made redundant last march, I started a new job in June with a 6 month Probationary period, which is due to end this month, the job is something which I have not done before and really not enjoying, However they have said that at the moment I would not be passing my probation which I can understand.

The question is would (if the worst happens) I be able to claim JSA straight away? I stopped claiming in June when I got the job?

Thanks

Not 100% sure mate, but if you lose your job you will have been dismissed. Which in your case will be due to the fact (like it or not) that you have not done your job upto standard.

So if you have been dismissed there is a big chance your JSA will be sanctioned.

    His JSA will be sanctioned.?

nah... just 'lie' to them it's the safer route and say the job was fr 6 months as a temp.

no way can they 'sanction' you then. (yes i know to lie isn't good..) - but that's life.

lol and if the JC contact the employer and ask why said person left the employer will tell the truth(well i would have thought so) and where would that leave the OP ? OP not worth it telling lies, apply for jsa and see what teh answer is.

No doubt about it, they will contact the ex employer.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • I was dismissed for misconduct and I got JSA straight away and they contacted my previous employer.

You will receive JSA until they have contacted your employer and the DM has made a decision. At one point it was taking three months for this to happen, nowadays it should far quicker. Unless there is good reason for your actions, the usual sanction for misconduct is 26 weeks.

Whilst I agree that the JCP will contact the employer, they will not automatically sanction for dismissal for underperformance. It really depends on the facts of the case.

they can contact the employer, they contacted the employer i was made redundant form in march so it does happen.

I still wouldnt lie, the OP could get someone who does they're job properly and checks the phones numbers are incorrect and the OP is found out for lieing. Its not worth the risk.
