Sickness payments linked to Commission

Hello,
I have recently had a percentage of my commission removed because of being off for 2 days on the sick. A friend has been off for 6 days at the start of the month.
In the commission plan, it is stated that money can be removed because of this, but I'm wondering if it is entirely legal for them to remove a percentage of my bonus (when I still hit ALL my targets) because of / despite a 2 day absence.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

It is certainly legal I'm afraid.
Anything beyond SSP (which isn't paid for the first three days anyway) is a contractual matter so all you can do is to carefully study your contract (in the widest sense i.e not just the piece of paper with contract written on it) and see what is agreed.
Company sick pay (if offered at all) can either be a hard and fast contractual matter (subject to laid down conditions) or it can be "discretionary" which means, within limits, they can do pretty much as they please on a individual basis.0 -
The company I used to work for started to allocate the profit from sales to the people who took the orders if the account "owner" was off sick. It stopped a lot of Monday morning CBA days off and made it fairer for the people doing the work, if someone was off due to say an operation they would still get a % of the profit and the commission by arrangement.0
