I agree, £100 is a lot to spend on a bottle of whisky. Why not spend a bit less and buy a couple of nice whisky glasses to go with it.aggypanthus wrote: »do you really need to spend so much? he will prob be afraid to drink it at that price. how about highland park or Islay.0 -
What about isle of Arran whisky they are great and have gifts to go with the whisky. I no they do fudge and gorgeous glasses.0

If they are a whiskey lover then maybe could buy some sort of tasting selection of several smaller bottles.....1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100
MFW 2013 no. 62 £10,000/£10,000
MFW 2014 no 62 £8000/£70000 -
Last year I did my husband a whisky hamper.
I put in whisky cheese (from arran cheeses), whisky fudge, whisky marmalade and a whisky book.
I also got a selection of taster bottles of varying prices ( 1 really good one and then a selection of cheaper ones) from https://www.masterofmalt.com
It looked fab. You could do something like this and then they would have a selection to try.Give me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.0 -
I agree with a lot of the posts here and go for a single malt.I try and get my dad a different whisky for either birthday or Christmas.Last Christmas I got him one from Booths(sorry can't recall the name)in a half price offer at £24ish and he adorded it! so much so in fact he actually asked for it again this year and luckily it is on half-price again. Use th eremainder money if you so wish on a hamper or whisky glasses.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

The MacAllan is a really good whiskey, Fine Oak is particularly good, They have a website with all the whiskeys they do and for £100 you will have a few to choose from.0

I bought my husband this Glenmorangie a few years back now after I'd visited the distillery and it has been well enjoyed by him and his friends (some of them are whisky buffs). I found it to be very smooth and perfect on ice but I prefer bourbon (I know sacrilege as a Scot but there you go).
My only concern would be that it's a high proof and so a little goes a long way - I don't drink enough to know if that's a good or bad thing though!NO FARMS = NO FOOD0 -
I tried a glass of this yesterday. £3.75 for 25ml so the bottle price is about right.
