I know that showing the amount of large amounts of money has been done before but I thought this was a particularly good example:

Interesting that poor old political outsider Obama only managed to raise and spend almost $800,000,000 whereas the cynical pro-business, moneyed and connected insider John McCain managed to raise a whopping $395,000,000. It's a miracle the poor old chap managed to get in at all.
The interest on the average US credit card debt is $5.63 a day.
The cost of buying the world a Coke (at wholesale prices) is apparently $2,240,000,000 whereas Coke's annual marketing spend is $2,980,000,000. The Coca Cola marketing department could buy the world a Coke and have change!

Have you seen the one which shows what a trillion dollar bills would look like?
Not sure the Obama fund-raising bit is that much of a shock, firstly he was always the run away winner so why waste dollars on someone who will never have any legislative powers? Secondly McCain was not 'one of us' for true republican believers so did not attract their dollars either. However this does not take away from the fact that Obama was all in favour of state funding and capped expenditure until he realised that he was going to hugely out canvas McCain at which point the idea was quietly dropped...I think....0 -
Fascinating chart!“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0

You mean this one:
After QE5 it will look like this:Not sure the Obama fund-raising bit is that much of a shock, firstly he was always the run away winner so why waste dollars on someone who will never have any legislative powers? I agree with what you say, it's more the portrayal of him that gets my goat as it's clearly nonsense. He even managed to raise double(?) what 'Dubya' managed to raise the previous time out and Bush really was a shoo in.0
