Facial

I would like to go for a course of facials in the run up to my wedding but dont know which "brand" to go for. I feel like Elemis/Clarins etc are more "pampering" and I want a more medical/dermological one so that my skin is clear. Has anyone got any recommendations?

  • I don't have any real recommendations, but think you're probably best to see what your local salons offer and how much they cost - do a google search for salons in your area.

I recommend getting the skin, hair and nails vitamins, drinking plenty of water, taking your make up off every night. You could also invest in a good face wash and moisturiser.

  • I had a Dermologica prescription facial the week before my wedding and it was amazing. Got rid of all the teeny tiny blackheads in the pores of my nose, made my skin feel plump and glowy, was fantastic. Mind you, I did advise her my wedding was in a few days and I don't think she went as "hard" on me if you know what I mean!

It cost £38 and was for an hour and 15 minutes and included a scalp massage as well. Bliss!

I'd suggest not having anything done for at least a couple of days before the wedding. My wife had a series of fancy facial things leading up to the big day and, even though she'd had the same thing about 10 times before, had a nasty reaction to it on the final session - 3 days before the wedding. Thankfully the inflammation had gone on the morning of the wedding, but it was a close call.

I'm planning on having regular facials now, partly because of our wedding, and partly because I think I'm getting to the age where I should be taking more care of my skin :) I hadn't thought of having a more dermalogical one though, I like the sound of the Dermalogica, I've always meant to try their products anyway so I think I'll look for a salon nearby. I usually like a Decleor facial but actually I'm not sure how much difference the products make, I think it's more the massage that draws the impurities out. I would need to have one at least 3 weeks before the wedding though, I get so many spots come out after, it takes that long to get rid!

    Hi,

Have you tried any yet? I've been thinking of trying these but there are a few & some are really expensive.

    Thanks
