Things like this just don't happen to me!!!!

I have been a lurker for ages, mainly just getting tips on how to get debt free. I have managed to pay off quite a bit of my debt by different ways, counting every penny and really going without a lot of things. I have got my debt down from 7k to just under 4K.
Anyway I just really wanted to share this (I really hope people don't think I'm showing off)
About 3 years ago we wrote to the financial ombudsman with a complaint that we were mis-sold our endownment policy on our house (have since changed it). We heard nothing so just thought that we were unsucessfull and have not thought about it for years,
that is untill this morning when I got a letter saying that the bank who sold it to us have settled our complaint and included was a cheque for £4116.76!!!!!!:j I am in shock!!!
This morning I was excited that I sold something on ebay for £27 and would be able to pay it off my credit card and now this has happened!!!
We are now debt free and planning to stay that way. I just can't believe it:rotfl: Thanks for listening!!!
