Very strange question!!

Just put a whole chicken in the halogen oven, put the lid on and went off to do something for 5 minutes. Went back in the kitchen, had a look at the chicken, noticed that somehow my mobile phone had got itself wedged under the lid, inside the metal part where the bulb is, if that makes any sense. It must have got wedged in there when I put the lid down on the counter (what an idiot!!).
Anyway I turned the oven off straight away, pulled my phone out and the side had melted very slightly. Don't really care too much, it was a £9.99 Tesco job (very MSE
).
My question is, will the chicken still be safe to eat? As far as I'm aware, no melting plastic had dripped onto the chicken and it hadn't been into contact with the chicken in any way. I'm just worried it would have given out toxic gases or something
My face when I saw my phone in there, merrily roasting away, must have been an absolute picture!

I can just see myself doing something like that! LOL.
I would be tempted to eat the chicken anyway as long as there isn't any melted plastic on it. (and if there was, I would probably just chop that bit off!!)Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
Well I have heard of mobiles going down the loo, in the ashing machine, tumbler dryer and one in a tin of paint but never in the Halogen. Please I have to know does it still work?Slimming World at target0

Funnily enough, yes! :rotfl: It still works absolutely fine, it's just a bit melted on one side! And the chicken was delicious

I'd have had the chicken as well, no problems there.
If it helps, I washed mine in the washing machine. It didn't work afterwards.

I jumped into a swimming pool, fully clothed once - and forgot my phone was in my pocket. A few weeks later I tried charging it up and it worked fine!0
