Another retailer with no real identity or defined customer base. IMO overpriced products. One report states that the debt owed to the banks is more than the company value.

Millets (part of group) is pretty popular around these parts for outdoor gear, not so Blacks.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

As OP says goods often overpriced IMO. i think they believe they are a bit of an upmarket seller.
Millets not so bad providing you get their offers but not a wide choice.
If they go it will be a shame to lose another competitor though.
Certainly don't want more Sports Direct dumbing down of brands or Gooutdoors with their non offers.
There must be market share to be had look at Decathalon for instance."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Millets in Bristol looked like they didnt have enough stock last Saturday when I went in there. The upstairs floor looked bare.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

It isn't that long ago that Blacks acquired Millets.
Both shops suffer, they don't really have USPs. They're mainly in town and quite frankly that is an expensive place to be for showrooms and many people avoid town centres these days because of council's anti-car policies.
Contrary to what has been said by another poster, I like Go-Outdoors. Free parking, easy to get to, showrooms the size of a B&Q with every in stock and on display (virtually). Their pricing is competitive and although they do play about with their pricing for offers, you can pick up bargains.0
