Allders Vouchers

Help! I've got £40 worth of Allders vouchers and only discovered they'd gone bust at the weekend (yeah I know I must have had my head in the clouds). Tried spending them today and was told they'd stop accepting them since 9 Feb. Any suggestions how I can use them or get my money back?

Thanks

Have you tried emailing Allders head office, Im sure there are alot of other people in the same situation, they cant just not accept them and leave you lumbard.
I can tell you that the carpets that allders sale in the big department stores, are actually courts, so maybe you can try and work around getting to spend your voucher with them ???
    Good Luck :)

That'd be Courts who have also gone bust leaving loads of paid up customers in the lurch.

I suspect you should contact the administrators, whereupon you would become an unsecured creditor.

    Froggitt is correct.

The Administrators accepted gift vouchers until 1st March even though they didn't have to, so I would think it is unlikely they will agree to accept any after this date. (I have worked in insolvency for 15 years and never seen gift vouchers honoured at any point before !).

'YOU have less than a week to spend your Allders gift vouchers.

That is the message from Alastair Beveridge of Kroll, the insolvent company's administrators.

In a statement, he said: "We would urge customers with gift vouchers to use them as soon as possible and definitely before close of business on Tuesday (March 1). With sales operating in Allders' stores, now is an even better time to use the vouchers to capitalise on the bargains available."

Under insolvency law, the administrators are not obliged to honour vouchers bought before their appointment on January 26, but they say they have sought to treat customers fairly.

Kroll have told staff to accept gift vouchers until close of business on Tuesday.'
