Hi,
I popped into Wilkinsons today and got 2 medium square wicker baskets with a cream lining for £3.30 each. Im doing hampers for my in laws.
I spent hours on line checking out ebay and amazon etc to try and get the cheapest price and it was £6 plus just for one and they were smaller and you had to add postage costs.
Hope this helps xQuit Day - 8th July 2009.0 -
for smaller hampers i have used something i have found in the pound shops....
its a plastic basket, they have them in all different colours and they have two handles( cant think of any other way to describe them)
i put the goodies in and then wrap them with cellophane and tie with a bow... they look really nice too...
and they only cost.......
a pound

If you have any near by the best place is car boot sales!
I got a huge one for my mum with a handle for just 50p!0 -
We do hampers for BILs every year but don't always use baskets.
Last year we got some lidded boxes from IKEA-the ones you make up yourself-and covered them with Christmas paper.
We've also used hessian bags from the Christmas market.0 -
Thanks for the ideas !!!
Don't have a Wilkonsons near me...but ill give the poundshop A try if all fails ill head to a car boot on sunday!!!

Hiya,
I use the boxes from the £1 shop - They have a lid and are a clear box.
I also use large plastic trifle dishes and cover them in red tissue paper. I have them from a freezer shop by me and they are 5 for 99p.
Hope this helps!

A peg basket? I bought a pale blue one that sounds the same this week and have now filled it with pegs. I'll have a fancy looking laundry room on a budget in no time!
Garden centres are often good places to find reasonably priced hampers, baskets & storage boxes too (at least where I live.)0 -
I had a look in Wilkinsons and the pound shops last week and couldn't find anything. Wilko's was expensive! I'm going to Dunelm Mill today, they seem to have a big range of boxes/baskets on their website.0

have a look online wilkinsons is doing free delivery at the moment
i'm doing 3 hampers and i'm just covering boxes with paper and putting the shredded tissue paper in much cheaper
i'd rather spend more on the contents than the box 0 -
I cut a small cardboard box in half and wrapped it in lovely paper, didn't cost a penny and I must say it looks lovely
nice idea if you can't find anything suitable Rubbish at the grocery challenge!0
