Well said a lot of you people. I USED to listen regularly to this guy. All he is interested in is getting people at each others throats and trying to boost his own ratings. I just happened to switch on the radio in my car a few days ago to hear him criticise his Mother. Something to do with his Christmas Dinner last year being cold or not cooked. He then proceeded to play on air, a telephone conversation he had with his Mother and had taped. The lady was very angry with him and this was obvious from some of her vocabulary. He MAY have told her he was taping the call (Is it legal to do so otherwise). How extremely embassassing for the lady. He is totally immature and childish at times. Does he actually behave like this when broadcasting on Radio 5 Live to a largely UK Mainland audience? Somehow I doubt it.
Roll on the day when we all, as licence fee payers find out how much he is paid on all our behalfs.
Sorry that this is not money saving related as such, but I just had to air my views when I read some other peoples comments.0 -
I listen to Radio Ulster for Gerry Anderson but am familiar with the Nolan show and can't stand it as it frequently appears to want to drag us back to the bad days with the same old same old topics etc.
I listen to 5live and i must say he does very little of the "immature and childish" stuff, and rarely mentions his weight - unlike radio ulster i believe. He gets away with it here because so many people clearly want to hear that sort of waffle, but I don't think he'd last in England acting like that!
All that said, he does get help for people, who otherwise probably wouldn't have a voice so perhaps its a case of take the good with the bad!
Gerry Anderson may not have the biggest show but its definately the best and funniest!0 -
Not many takers here then!0

Not wishing to be rude - but no thanks from me also.
For some reason his uk shows seem ok but his n.i shows seem very poor, cant really understand why this is.
Maybe not the best thread to say it but I really miss David Dunseith and Barry Cowan, what talent we used to have on our airwaves.I'd like to teach the World to sing in perfect Harmony:j

I see Gerry anderson's got himself into bother by playing something rather unsuitable.0

I feel sorry for anyone who can't see the funny side of this, mildly risque but not worth a hoohaa about!
