Good price, but they only work with Skype, not other VoIP providers.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0

I was purely making a valid point, so don't be such a %*&£
Skype is poor value when used to phone telephone numbers compared to other services, hence paying £30 for a phone which only works with Skype is not MSE.
Your comment adds nothing to this thread.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

It doesnt say it works with other VoIP providers. What a crazy thing to post.
If my mum had a %*&£ she would be my dad!
There is nothing wrong with withabix comments but there is something wrong with your tone!
There are many who wouldn't buy only Skype compataible phone.0 -

I guess that depends on where you use this phone.
I work abroad a lot so this would be ideal for me to have in the hotel room connected to the laptop.
It is much cheaper to make skype out calls than very very expensive hotel phone charges.
If you only ever used it at home then yes other VOIP Sipgates etc would probably be cheaper.
Nice spot OP, good price for a cordless Skype phone. I think I'll grab one of these for my mother in-law, (we already have a Skype cordless) so her and my wife can talk for hours on end PC-PC for FREE, without having to sit next to the computer. The £30 outlay will save on normal calls0 -
I dont think this is a dual phone where u can use it to dial normal telephone line. Philips and other manufacturers to dual phones which use dect technology. I find myself knee deep in phones and remote controls in our house.0

The Philips VOIP1211 VOIP And Skype Compatible Digital Cordless Telephone from Amazon at £19.99 may also be worth a look ?

Anyone know how the two compare ?0 -
jimbobaggins wrote:Hey I never called you a name, so why call me one?
My point is this, for example, using an analogy :-
"Vauxhall Astra Diesel 1.9 Comfort, £2,999 brand new from Vantage Vauxhall."
Your equivalent response would be...
"Good price but this doesn't work with petrol, its a diesel."
This would be completely irrelevant to the original post.
Reread your post and think again and you may understand my response better. Why post something negative just for the sake of being 'Mr Knowledge'. I think you may find that actually YOUR comment adds no value to the thread.
And by the way, if you signed up to SkypeOut during the three months up to December 31st, you got all landline calls in the UK free for 6 months, with no strings, which is far cheaper than any VoIP provider, even the 'free' ones and Skype is proven to provide better [strike]quaility[/strike] quality calls.
Whats your problem withabix was trying to be helpful
Its more like a phone being posted and saying "it will only work on 3", a helpful comment if you didn't know, trying to back up your argument with petrol and diesel is ridiculous. I know nothing about skype and am interested to know more so withabix has helped me :T ..0
