Changing the way I shop..

I am, as many others are really feeling the pinch when it comes to grocery shopping!

But just the other week a new homebargins shop has opened near here, being nosey I had a quick look, only to find so many branded items at low prices, I have now started popping in there with my shopping list on way out, and getting what I can there, We also have a cash & carry locally, that sells things just on the best before date, very handy for pet food etc..

Also I have got my DD in training!! She has taken to doing supermarket comparisons when she has finished her school work - she is home tutored and has a lot of time on her hands after that ends for the day..

Also with work it means that armed with the lists she makes, I can visit Mr T, Mr A or Mr M on different days depending on my work schedule.. :)

And that means no extra fuel costs :)

Gone are the days of the weekly food shop for us.
We only buy if its on offer, and have two litres of milk
for £1 and two loaves for £1.50 or £1. 70 from Iceland.
Mr W is in Poundworld each week looking for offers.
If you have a big family to feed, then it would be a
    different matter.
  • Our local asian supermarket has 2 bottles of milk or bread for £1...it really does pay to shop around and buy from different places. I love home bargains...but always spend more than I meant to in there because things seem so cheap!
  • Long gone with us are the days of a once weekly trip to Sainsbury's. Sainsbury's (or Asda) are now just visited for the things I can't get elsewhere. Basics are bought weekly at Aldi and I regularly I pop into Home Bargains, Fulton Foods, Farmfoods and Iceland for any bargains they may have. Meat I buy in bulk from the butchers. My store cupboards and freezers are jampacked but I just can't stop buying bargains when I see them! My DD, who lives nearby, thinks I am stocking up for a siege and, rather than pop to the shop for something she has run out of, she comes and raids my stocks!

My best shop is the garden. And a determination not to overeat and to study the nutritional info on every food item bought.
    But admit love a bargain.
