After all excessive postage is not the right way to boost your profits
How would they know how much it did actually cost them to hand deliver? Petrol/public transport?
Maybe they thought they were doing them a favour, delivering more quickly as post is more likely to be late this time of the year.
Some people are never happy.0 -

Just what I was thinking!£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

How do you know how far they had to travel...
Lets for arguements sake say they lived two streets away...
So they walked...
Saved all of the postage costs...
And probably packing as well, as being hand delivered it could be delivered in a carrier bag...
So 100% profit on p&p as well
If you pay for a service that service should be used...
Unless arrangemts are made otherwise and the relevent cost differences refunded.
So defensive.. perhaps you are one of the sellers that inflate p&p costs to boost profits

You have no proof to back up your assumptions and I assume are deliberately being inflammatory. Hand delivered today or RM in a week, happily settle for delivery today and let him keep the postage. It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -

And likewise no-one has proof in their assumptions that the seller needed to use public transport, or use very expensive fuel in their vehicle to deliver the parcel.0 -

No one else is advocating that the OP leave low stars for p&p charges. It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -

If we had the full details then maybe we could make a better judgement...
But if I felt ripped off then yes, low stars would be my answer if after contacting the seller I didn't get a satisfactory solution.
Either way the OP has already said the postage was high, blatant fee avoidance and even if you agree with the overall cost the stars are there to mark P&P costs and if you feel ripped off mark them down.
Here is an example of an item I sold the other day...
I weighed it and worked out the postage from that weight...
When I took it to the PO for delivery he said it would go as large letter...
As I had allowed postage for a packet of the same weight at 2nd class...
I sent it 1st class instead and refunded 60p so as not to be seen to be profiting from the postage charges.
Had I not refunded I would have expected low stars for P&P and would have fully deserved them.0 -
I have refunded postage costs too, normally when I have overcharged by a pound or more (only done it twice).
But if someone delivered it me I would not ask for a refund on p+p after all they may have used fuel to get here. Well they would as I live in a village haha. The Fields are Green, The sky is blue, the River Nene goes winding through, The market square is Cobblestoned, It shakes the old dears to their bones, A finer town you'll never see, A finer town they'll never be, Big city lights don't bother me, Northampton Town I'm proud to be!0 -
As a buyer I would not have batted an eyelid over a 60p postage difference. I doubt I'd have even noticed. As long as the item arrives safely and within the agreed time I'm happy.rockin_plumber wrote: »Had I not refunded I would have expected low stars for P&P and would have fully deserved them.0 -
