Does your mum actually want one, & does she know how much the pods will cost her?

She might prefer this £40 espresso machine. Cheaper to buy, & uses much cheaper pods.

We were looking at a Tassimo machine on Amazon and, similarly, this has increased by £10 to £89.99 during the last couple of weeks.

Waiting until after Christmas now - bound to go back down again in January ??? !!!

Amazon also have the cream for £59.99.
The piccolo version is £52.99 at Amazon, smaller tank but the coffee is exactly the same and takes up less room on your worktop.
  • thanks ... i am considering getting the smaller one now .. ill do some research in to how many cups you can get out of it ... but will look for a discount code for either amazon or comet :)

I have the smaller one, although it is not as funky looking as the bigger model, it is nice and compact for the kitchen, which means we definitely keep it out on the worktop and therefore use it every day. Some of our bigger appliances get put away in cupboards and never see the light of day! Once you fill the tank, it takes just a few seconds before it is ready to make the coffee, so even if you had to add more water to make lots of cups of coffee it's not really a problem. The piccolo was on special offer last xmas at Argos for about £35, as prices are fluctuating so quickly, you might be better of buying one instore eg Comet and then returning it if/when a better offer comes along.
  • thanks i think you have sold me on the smaller one as she will be able to just leave it out on display ...
i think she will love it so will hunt around as see how cheap i can get it and im gonna have to buy her the party pack of pods so she can see what she likes before she gets her own pods ;)
