Can a student get a bank loan?
Due to high expenses this year, a bank loan of anything from £1,000 to £5,000 would be incredibly helpful to me. I have already dipped into my student overdraft so that is not an option in this instance.
I would be greatful is anyone could shed some light on what my chances are of being sucussul and weather there are any particular banks / lenders which I would be wise to turn to??
Annual Income (P/T) - £7000 Apx
Student Support - £5000
Thanks in advance!

Undergraduate?
I dont think your income is high enough, and banks dont like to lend to students.
Do you have a credit card? Are you maxed on the overdraft?0 -
Smile and egg give student's loans. I got on last year.0

smile, don't give student loans. You have to open a new normal account with smile, pay the required £1000 into it every month and then apply for a loan.
With student accounts at smile, you don't get anything. All additional products with them, have to be as a new holder. That isn't saying you can't have the student acc and the loan account side by side, but you have to re-apply as a new customer0 -
You can get a special loan if you do a professional course like law, medicine or dentristy etc0

Yes they can. When I was a student (17) I had a pre-approved offer from my bank. So if you really need one go to your own bank.0

pre-approved loan offer at 17? you can't get a loan until 18 at least
some banks prefer you to be over 210 -
Well im 25 now it was a long time ago. Yes you are right was 18 as they gave me a credit card too. Never used it though £500 limit. Got a platinum £3500 when 21.0
