My local Tesco 'Supermarket' sells Tesco Mincemeat (for mince pies) for £1.20 for a 411g jar. My local Tesco Express (1.1 miles from the larger store) sells it for £0.30p!!!!
Anyone else noticed price differences like this in shops from the same chain but in different locations?

Usually its the other way round eg a loaf of bread at an express is say £2 and in the tesco extra store in same town the same loaf of bread is say £1.50.0

Tesco Expresses are always pricier IMO - we've got one opening in our area soon, but once people realise the prices are on par with waitrose and the waitrose quality is superior i don't think it will do so well. I will still have to travel out of town to do my shopping!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
Debt payments 2012 £433.270 -

Any supermarket will set its prices according to the local competition.
Our local Tesco lowered its prices when a rival opened nearby.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
The interesting thing is that my local express has no competition within a 10 minute walk as all of the little shops closed down before Tesco opened or lost all of their business when it did open.Any supermarket will set its prices according to the local competition.

I've found my express store to be more expensive on many every day items but cheaper on a lot of other things.0 -

There is a Co-op in the petrol station where I live. First of all the fuel is 3p a litre more than the next petrol station 1 mile from there. Sometimes I have popped in there and got deals which are cheaper than the offers at work - even after staff discount.0
