Cookbook needed - heart disease AND diabetes

My brother in law had heart bypass surgery a few years ago and has to stick to a low fat diet. He has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and needs to also follow a low sugar regime. I can find loads of cookbooks for one or both problems on their own but nothing combining a low fat/low sugar diet.

Anyone else got this problem and how have they solved it.
I'm not sure if this is in the right forum so may post it in Old Style MS

RachelD, sorry to hear of your brother in law's health problems. Have you seen this site ? Hope you find what your looking for.

RachelD : you'll probably find that most diabetic cookbooks will suffice. We diabetics have it drummed into us that we have to maintain a healthy diet, covering off both low fat & low sugar....a task easier said than done because manufacturers typically bulk up the fat/salt to achieve low sugar, and bulk up the sugar/salt to achieve low fat.

Any decent healthy eating cookbook should keep the intake of all three "nasties" (sugar, fat, salt) low.
I really must stop loafing and get back to work...

Thank you to everyone who replied. I think I have now found one.

"No Salt, No Sugar, No Fat Cook Book (Nitty Gritty Cookbooks S.)"
    Jacqueline Williams; Paperback

My brother in law does most of the cooking and has seldom deviated from fried chops and roast chicken. He will try new things if he has a recipe to follow .
