Newbie...Should I or Shouldn't I???

Options
Hi All

I am sure you are sick of being asked this question...but I am new and looking for some advice....basically we have been in money problems for years now and although it doesnt seem like a lot of debt to mist it is too us..I got 2 overdrafts from the Halifax and have basically lived in them and over them for years, I am in arrears with council tax, rent and fuel bills and today my mum had to do a grocery shop because I have no money. I have been looking through my statements for past year or 2 and charges are about £2k  Is it worth me even attempting to claim this or not. From the activity in my account i'm surprised they havent already made me pay back my od!

Thanks in Advance

    Hi Hoopy 26
After the court ruling 2010 they have no obligation to refund charges. However, if you incurred charges because of genuine financial hardship (and not hardship due to mismanagement of the account) they might consider your request for repayment of charges if you outline your circumstances in a clear, detailed manner.

Write to them, you have nothing to lose. Read carefully all the advice on this site first. The bank might offer you financial advice/help etc if you are still customers. If you get no joy I would use FOS route if you do fit the hardship criteria.
