    Honestly this seems a lot of hassle for one day and if it is a true one off you might be over thinking it. I'd certainly take my sister to the hospital if she were stuck. And I'd let her but me some groceries to say thank you. Would that be a reasonable deal for her?

    Yes you are right. So much hassle, on top of a difficult day as the hospital was 2.5 hour drive away! But it's over now.
