DIY 'The Basics'

What's this hammer for? What's a Phillips Screwdriver? How do I get wallpaper right into the corner? How do I wire a plug? How to read my meters? My tap keeps dripping.
These and a thousand other minor household problems leave some people, especially those moving into their first home, trembling with a fear of the unknown. Generally speaking, anyone with a little basic knowledge or the means to ask those who do, can carry out basic home repair/maintenance tasks with the minimum of tools.
So, who's stuck with a niggly minor problem that a little advice would fix.
Ask away...I bet someone here has a means and a solution to that household problem.
Yes, I usually tell it as I see it and respond where I see the need, but never are my comments ment to be taken personally.

Ok, I've got one for you.

Our coffee table is similar to this one but the drawers have started sagging in the middle due to us putting too much junk in them.
I've got the middle bit propped up with books but would like a long tern solution which won't mean I've got to find money to buy a new one?
There's not really anywhaere to put a small bracket that I can see...

    It's the middle section.

Solution: Put less junk in them...

    That'll be £37 + VAT please... :D
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

That leads to another question, where do people keep their junk?
