The government have paid for a Next Step Advisor to be present at the workfare places. Do you think they help at all? Whats your experience.

We refer people to Next Step a lot and they have only ever provided a fantastic service with regards to careers & training.0

The next steps advisor I saw was lovely but he admitted that in out area there are very limited opportunities for training and what there is have long waiting lists. And it's getting worse as funding is being cut all over.0 -
I used to be a Nextstep Careers Adviser and we prided ourselves on being client oriented and offering objective advice. I would expect this service to very helpful to clients.0

You must have been unlucky, we used to give information and advice for surrounding areas and also further afield.0 -

A positive attitude from the claimant will make the relationship far more fruitful.0 -

That said the advisor pointed me in the direction of some online courses which I'm now doing, but he expressed his own frustration at how badly our area is covered.0
