Advice

I submitted my full application for a mortgage last week. Then I check my credit file to see 3 missed payments added for exceeding my overdraft on a dormant account. I had no letters from my bank to inform me I was over my limit so was quite shocked.

My question is should I notify my mortgage lender? They carried out a full credit check for the aip in sept, but I suspect that they will run a new one and these missed payments will now shown up.

I'm confused. How can you have recently gone over the limit on a dormant account?

Interest charges. So frustrating really. I should have closed the account when I stopped using it.

Do you think I should tell my mortgage lender now that I am aware?

But it must have been over the limit to have interest charged. Anyway, I would make sure you clear what is owing immediately so it is resolved. One of the mortgate advisors on here should be able to advise whether it is better to contact the lender now or wait and see. Hope it works out for you.
