Paper logs for wood burner

Hi all,
Ive been looking at cheaper ways to keep my woodburner alight. I came across paper log makers such as:

These look good because you can use newspaper, leaves, twigs, teabags etc...

Has anyone used these? Im concerned about 2 things:
How much ash do these create?
Do they create much soot/creosote in the chimney? Ive heard you have to be very careful about what you burn in a wood burner.

Ild be interested to hear your comments and what paper log makers you use.

we have one that looks like the one on the ebay link. It does create a lot of ash, not sure about how much soot it makes in the chimney though, we don't burn paper logs very often, maybe a couple a week. We make them with shredded paper (from shredding bank statements etc) the trouble is they take forever to dry out, you need to make them in the summer really and let them dry in the sun. We were behind this year and have lots of soggy ones in the shed! I don't really like them to be honest, often when we put one on it seems to kill the fire.

hmmm, I thought that might be the case. I might buy the dry paper log maker - at least Ill have a choice of making dry or wet paper logs.
