Joining more than one agency

So I work full time for the NHS, 3 long days a week leaving me 4 days off.

I have just joined 1 agency to be able to work at my old job. I am looking at late shifts which are 4pm-9:30pm 1 or 2 evening a week, pay is £8:30ish weekday & £10+ weekend.

I am also joining another agency to get more experience in hospitals, care homes etc and the pay is better.
- £10.75 to £11.80 weekdays
- £12.90 to £14.00 saturdays
- £14.50 to £16.50 sundays
- £17.20 to £19.35 bank holidays

As I'm only working locally with both agency's I could work with both on 2 of my days off.

It may should like I'm working loads but I fully intend to have 1 1/2 - 2 days off each week and with agency 1, as I'm only working with one home, there won't always be shifts avaible each week.

Do you guys think I'm completely crazy? I do but I'm thinking of the money especially as my partner is soon to go to part time hours.

  • If you would be working fewer than 48 hours a week, I see no problem. If sometimes you would work over that, you need to average the hours over 3 months and ensure that isn't more than 48. If it is, you get into the realms of having to ensure each of your employers knows about your hours and that you sign the WTR 48-hour opt out for each.

I'm sure I've already signed one for my main employer.

With the second agency I have to pay for the practical training but I'm still confirmed on free training for another agency where I've had the 'not successful' email.

Would it be checky for me to attend it? I still have access to the training site for this agency & my names still on there
