I've got a proper job!

Just a note to say that I posted here a while ago about becoming a teaching assistant. I have been offered a 27 hour a week Teaching Assistant post in a nearby school helping with literacy. I'd been applying for all sorts of jobs for the last six months or so and am very pleased to get this one. I do not have any teaching assistant qualifications, but I do have a degree (in English) and I tutor English privately.
So to anyone else considering this, don't let your lack of directly relevant qualifications put you off.

  • Well done. I'm sure you will be an asset to the school and really good for the children.

I have highlighted why you got the job! maybe because of the very relevant qualifications!. Good luck all the same.

Hello, well done for getting that job though I am surprised even with a degree in english.

Round my way (Bridgend, south wales) teaching assistants are being laid off.
