Disassociation:
Experian: http://www.experian.co.uk/contactforms/consumer_onlinedisassociation.html
Equifax: Follow the steps in the FAQ here under "Tell me about Financial Associates/Alias" https://equifaxuk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/569

It doesn't necessarily require a notice of disassociation.
Do you still have any joint accounts with this person? If you contact equifax and experian over a similar issue, they can remove the link without having to put a notice of disassociation on, if the joint account is closed.Feb 2024:

The above links to request a disassociation will remove the links from your report, not just place a "notice" on it.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Sorry fermi I was replying to phil's post about notice of disassociation.Feb 2024:

That's right, we delete all links. Not sure where the phrase 'notice of disassociation' comes from because it is misleading IMO. By the way, simply settling joint accounts will not break the links - you do need to request the disassociation, and you need to do it with each of the three CRAs.
