I think thats a great present, I bought my son and my nephew a similar set for their 2nd christmases so they were both 18 months. I added to my sons and my sister added to her sons over the years and they had loads of fun pushing the trains round the track . . I also think their dads enjoyed building the tracks for them :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £25/£10000

Thanks, I really want to buy it but was worried about the age. I think that it definatly going to be a Son and Dad playing together type gift :-)0

My daughter had that exact set for her 2nd birthday this year, so will be perfect for an 18 month old0

My DS has had his since his first birthday and now at four it is still the most popular toy in the house. He constantly plays with it.
We started with a simple set like in that link but have added to it from Mr T's and with "proper" Brio and Thomas the Tank Engine pieces (mainly from CB) Most of the pieces are inter-changable although the IKEA ones we had didnt quite fit so they are at the Grandparents.
You might be too late, but TK Max have had some really good Brio sets recently in two of my local stores.0 -
Got a bargain 60 piece set on Tesco for under £9 :-)0

The first train set is a great idea, but I'm bumping this for other ideas. I have a 2 year old boy to buy for shortly, I'd like to buy something he'll play with for a while / will help with his develpoment.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!
