soda crystals for cleaning washing machine

Hi,

I can't find any info on how much soda crystals to use to clean out a washing machine.

Does anyone know, and do I put it straight in the drum or in the dispenser please.

    Hi,

From memory I think there is a picture of a washing machine with washing hanging out of the door on the bag.
I don't really use them, its only what I've noticed.

I assume that mean you can use soda crystals for washing clothes, that being the case, I'd put them in the drawer and put on a 10 minute cycle.

    HTH

Someone will be along soon who actually uses the crystals.

I'd put them in the dispenser, assuming you have sufficient water pressure of course. After this, you can just add some with whatever you normally use for washing - you can use less soap and these two things together lessen the need for washing the machine. :)

Sorry, just noticed you asked about quantity, too. For this wash I'd fill it to the line in the drawer. Then just add about a tablespoon to each wash in the future.

Found a website that says half a packet in the drum for cleaning out.

I usually throw almost half a packet in drum and fill up drawer too if its not been done for a while, or a good cupful and a scoop into drawer if its a regular clean up.
