This entirely depends on what your contract and/or your employer's rules and policies say on the matter or, if they are silent, what is the custom and practice. Whichever, the size of the commission is irrelevant. If the principle is wrong, then it is wrong full stop.

    who did the work?
  • It all depends on what your terms & conditions have to say about it and whether this was done with your colleague's collusion. I wouldn't view is as gross misconduct but your employer might. If they know

When I worked in an internal sales team we would work together on the last few days of the month to get the team members to target but that was with the full knowledge and consent of the company. Did your supervisor know what you were doing?

Does the employer incur any loss as a result of this transfer of case and commission?

If the giver loses £5 and the gainer gains £50 for hitting a threshold, then the employer will lose £45.
If the giver loses £5 and the gainer gains £5 then there is no loss to the employer.

I think that this distinction marks the boundary of misconduct.

Deleted all the subsequent posts they made too and no responder appears to have quoted the OP or subsequent posts.

OP didn't want to leave a trail?

The thread then becomes useless to anyone else who had a similar query - though one can guess at the bare bones of what happened from some of the responses.
