"near bankrupt" property developer sets fire to castle

Max Kay, 36, of Waylands Drive, Hunts Cross, Liverpool, pleaded guilty to a charge of arson that was reckless as to whether life was endangered when he appeared at Chester Crown Court. The blaze caused £6m worth of damage to Peckforton Castle.

    A funeral is about a third of that price, but would that cover the costs of the wake, the memorial costs and it certainly does not cover the ongoing charges - equivalent to a honeymoon costs:

    DIY can save on the Probate solicitor and bank fees: The £16,000 a bank may charge for probate on a £400,000 estate or the £8,000 a solicitor may charge.
