I cant see a big demand happening for the PS3 because there aint no christmas rush as there was for the 360 & wii.

Do play to refunds on consoles ? Aint games and consoles usually excluded from the usual refunds processes stores and sites have?

i see what you're saying, but i bought a PS1 and PS2 on their release and sold them for a lot of profit. It would be a shame to miss out if prices were to do the same again.

I think you may make a profit, but suspect it will be a very small one percentage wise. Both PS1 and PS2 were cheap on their release compared to the massive RRP for PS3. I made £90 profit myself on a Wii just before Christmas. But I am not going near a PS3.

I just think the £400 odd could be better invested elsewhere if you are looking to make a profit. I doubt you will lose money, but it depends how much you value your time and effort into selling it.

Oh your right i forgot about the awesome launch games:

Oblivion,Fight night, Cod3, Blazing angel... etc Oh wait a minute i played these a year ago on my 360 ;)

Of course there is the downloadable sudoku games so maybe it is £425 well spent! :rotfl:

Ah, the banter of console fanboys, hitched for life to a company that doesn't care about them. Always amusing.

If you don't want it, I'd just cancel the preorder. What with the large initial shipments, the high price and the lack of a Christmas rush you're just not going to see the same sort of eBay madness that the Wii and 360 had. There are almost certainly better things to do with your time and money.

If you decide to hang onto it and sell it, I'd suggest going the route of selling the preorder, because at least that way you can get what cash is available before people realise that there's not as much of a shortage as they were expecting.
Finally a happy home (and mortgage) owner...

I'd say keep it, eBay it, and if that doesn't bring you the required funds (reserve or BIN!) then return to play.com ;)

  • I personally don't think the ebay price will be upto much, I think stocks will meet demand as it's set it self a niche market with a steep starting price and little in the way of games to get most people excited.

I certainly won't be buying at launch, come Christmas time when the price has dropped, the bugs have been fixed and a few decent games are out I may re-consider.
