Am discharged from BR and looking to move into a rented place in a few months. I understand will likely fail the credit check.
I have read that if you pay 6 months deposit this can avoid having to get a garniture, anybody know when get the 6 month deposit back or is when you vacate?

It's not 6 months deposit but rent in advance, you pay the normal one month deposit which the landlord must place in the deposit guarantee scheme.
So you sign a 6 month rental agreement and pay all the rent in one hit, then would probably need to do the same again to renew, although some agents will go on to monthly rental on renewal. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN
