Paying rent to a relative

As i am struggling financially on my own, I am shortly going to move in with my brother and s-in-l. Altho I am leaving my current job voluntarily to relocate, I am hoping that i will be able to claim Job Seekers Allow. until I find myself some full time employment. Until I do find myself a job, my brother has said that i need not pay him any rent/housekeeping. Will this affect my Job Seekers Allow? Would I be able to claim Housing Benefit when I have a job and start paying him rent? Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

You aren't usually able to claim Housing Benefit if you live in the house of a close relative. As for Job Seekers Allow(ance).. LOL.. they will look at the circumstances. You need to have a good reason for moving ready as that will make it easier.
