Argos replacing tv

Options
Last Xmas I bought a bush 42" tv from Argos. Original price £600, sale price £300. The tv is still under warranty. Last week tv stopped working, Argos sent engineer out to repair it. It turns out hey can not get the parts to repair the tv. Argos have offered a refund or a to replace it. Does the replacement have to be a £300 tv, or should Argos be replacing it with another 42" tv with no extra cost to myself?

You say 'Argos have offered a refund or to replace' are they asking you to choose.

Dont forget you have had a years use out of your TV.

Although I don't know for certain, I have a feeling they have to offer a replacement of a similar product. So if yours has been discontinued, for example, then one of a comparable spec would be offered.

A 42" Bush TV was only a £300 TV anyway.

    Argos own brand.

    Argos invented price.

They will no doubt replace with another equivalent Argos own brand 42" TV.

What they won't do is replace it with at £600 42" TV.

As the above poster says, all they need to do is offer a similar spec and if doesnt need to be a new TV either it could be a reconditioned unit to the same standard.

If you take the exchange you may a TV that does not have the latest features etc on it.

If you take the money you can purchase a new tv to what ever spec you require.
