Todays List Of Basic Bank Accounts

hey all,

thought this list might be useful. This was updated today. click here to find out more: http://www.moneyfacts.co.uk/banking/bestbuys/banking_basic_bank_accounts.aspx

whilst your here, does anyone know if i need to declare that i was BR when applying for a new bank account? I was bankrupted in 1999, discharged in 2000 so everything has disappeared from my file. I've not applied for anything since my BR day so i guess i'm a non entity!

other excellent resources i've found (one in an earlier post i made)

and just for "fun" http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/eiir/IIRNameSearchMapIE.asp where you can find details of your own or look for anyone else - it's surprising who you will turn up!

  • Worth adding that Natwest Step account has now been upgraded to allow online payments direct from your account.

Weird. Wonder why I don't show up in that list.

    *is worried now*

<edit> Never mind, it's only for bankruptcies that ended in the last 3 months - mine ended 18 months ago! Phew!

I'm saving for my car tax & MOT, due in June.
    January savings total:- £28.46
    February savings total:-£86.96
    March savings so far:-£14.76
    Total savings:-£130.18
  • As soon as you are discharged your bankruptcy falls off that list!! The bankruptcies are listed for the FULL term of the undischarged status

When applying for a bank account post discharge you do not need to tell them you have been bankrupt unless there is a question that specifically says "have you ever been bankrupt"

The bankruptcy falls off your CRF on discharge
