I know someone who used to work for OCS, he also went for an interview but it was more of an induction. Most of the jobs he did was stocktaking for Tesco and B&Q. He left the job because some of the jobs were hours away by road and though they had a driver and a bus who used to pick them up from a pre agreed location near their homes but they did not get paid for the travel time, just for the hours they spent working which was c**p. You may want to ask at the interview if you will get paid for time spent travelling to the job location. Good luck.

Hard work, phsically demanding, repetitive, dirty, long travelling times, unsociable hours and probably poorly paid.

I wouldn't mind being paid for travel time to work myself. If I got paid for travel time each day, I'll take a job anywhere (especially if the travel time was at least an eight hour round trip and I worked for one hour a day) ;)

Tongue out of cheek, I can see your point - several hours travel to and from work each day does take up free time quite heavily compared to an hour or so each way.
  • lol. most of the jobs were about 2-3hrs away one way so almost 5-6 hours round trip and during unsociable hours and the pay was the same as normal hours. Guess if you dont have a choice and need to pay bills a job is a job. He got another job as a night receptionist and took that. £7.50 an hr and 45min journey to work by train.
