Paid more tax this month?

Hi all,

Quick question really, I seemed to have paid 20p more tax this month, would anyone know why?

Its only 20p and not going to break the bank, i'm just wanting to know why this would be!

    It is the way tax is calculated. Tax is taken only on the full pounds that it is due on; the pence are just carried forward untill they add up to an extra pound on your taxable pay then you pay 20% of that extra pound ie. 20P
