Clothing size guide confusion

I'm a size 18, sometimes a 20 when it comes to jackets and a 22 in shirts so I don't flash my boobies through the buttons

Most of my clothes are an 18, jeans from next, new look, dp, matalan are an 18, although I do buy smart trousers in a 20 as I feel more comfortable and I have lost 2 stone so am shrinking slowly. I aim to be a 16 by June 2012.

I have 3 coats/Jackets all in a 20 with extra space for jumpers and 1 is deffo looser than it was last winter.

Anyway my point is, I have seen a Jack Murphy padded jacket on ebay which I love and they go up to a 20. I spoke to the seller and she said she tried the size relevant to her and was pleased with the fit.

I have checked the size guide and it is pretty much inline with trespass, matalan, new look etc within a few CM.

However upon measuring myself and looking at size charts apparently I should be a size 30 round my bust, 24 round my waist and hips :eek:my mum is 24 and tried one of her tops on and it swamped me.

My clothes 18-20 aren't tight and fit well, so what size am I? I am so confused.

I want the Jack Murphy jacket but I'm worried it will be too small now.

Forgot to add, I remember stealing an ex's Animal Hoody which was adults Medium and the only place it was tight was my boobies and they measure at 38-40 bust. My jodhpurs are a 36" waist and although do have some stretch they fit well and even when brand new they weren't stretched to do up.

  • Can you not ask the EBay seller for exact measurements of the jacket you want to buy? I do this quite frequently, and sellers are usually happy to oblige. (I mean by this that the seller actually measures 'your' jacket, not sends you the standrad size chart for the manufacturer)

I find buying clothes from EBay is freqently better for sizing than buying clothes from other online outlets, because you can ask so many questions before you buy.
