Totally agree. Youtube helped me pick it up again after years of not knitting

My son's gf tried youtube when she wanted to learn to knit but found it much easier when she was being shown by a real person (aka me). I have bought her this book for Christmas as it has great reviews:

How about contacting your nearest WI or local wool shop and asking if anyone would be willing to teach you?“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

Not on a high street has so many options for you to get started..I bought one of these last year..Though it requires patience, if you have then worth giving it a shot...

Just a little tip if you want to start knitting. When my daughter wanted to learn, we went to the local charity shop and bought wool and needles very cheaply, excellent for practising! in our charity shop though you have to ask for the needles as they have to keep them behind the counter.0
